My name is Katrina Murphy and I am currently completing a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychology at Swinburne University of Technology, Hawthorn.
Thankyou for your interest in this study. The aim of the research is to investigate the association between Internet use and wellbeing of adults. I am looking for Internet-using adults, aged 18 to 75 years, to participate. As a participant in this study you are invited to complete a questionnaire online. You will be asked to provide some general information about your age, gender, relationship status, the types of Internet activities you participate in, your social wellbeing and satisfaction with friendships and social life and your general wellbeing and mood.
The questionnaire will take approximately 30 minutes to complete. Participation is completely voluntary and completion and submission of the questionnaire will be taken as your consent to participate. Please be assured that your individual responses are completely confidential. Results from this study may be submitted for publication, however only group results will be reported.
Although it is not expected that this research will raise any issues that cause you concern, if you feel that you require assistance because of concerns about your Internet use, depression, anxiety or other well-being issues, please contact the Student Services Counselling on 9214 8025 (Hawthorn Campus) or 9215 7101 (Lilydale Campus) if you are a Swinburne student.
